Deon Robertson

Raised in a single parent home, Deon developed into a wonderful young man. He expressed his interest in music at a very young age. At six months, Deon would hum tunes while eating. Because his mother was only sixteen at the time of his birth, he was able to spend much time with his grandparents. Deon was birthed into a family of vocalist. Granny, as he called her is a wonderful pianist and a member of The Fantastic Golden Aires. She took him to rehearsals and gospel events quite often. As they traveled from place to place so did Deon. He also spent time with his mother and aunt as they traveled and sang as well.
As he grew older, his love for music became more obvious. Deon would imitate gospel artist and attempt to become them during playtime. Although, he loved gospel music, his pawpaw made sure that he was well caught up with the blues like, BB King, Bobby Blue Bland and any other guitarist.
Forced by his mother Deon attempt all types of sports, but he would not let go of his music vision. At the young age of eleven, he and his family became members of the Holy United Church. Because of his mother’s dedication, Deon was a member of every youth organization in the church.
Originally, the choir president had him in the back, but with out constraint she led him to the front. In such a short time, he became a high named individual. The church marveled at his unique forms of voice control. Month after month Deon was leading a new song or working it out with an old one.
With much respect and admiration at the age sixteen, Deon began to volunteer to do background for other groups and artist. This ranged from ensembles at local churches as well as, The Fantastic Golden Aires, Twinkie Clark and others. Taking advantage of all opportunities Deon along with his good friend George Huff ventured out to win the Oklahoma Idol contest.
Soon after, Deon sought out the guidance of Untapped Management. This company opened up opportunities to start his own new single “Wonderful”. This single sold over one thousand copies just in Oklahoma. Now at the age eighteen, Deon with the help of others has learned to arrange his own songs. This accomplishment has sparked the attention of other artists to be interested in working with him. Still requested today to sing in school, church and many other functions, Deon has made himself known in Oklahoma with the management of Untapped Records.
